Welcome to the most exciting, equestrian sport in Montana.
A sport for the entire family, Cowboy Mounted Shooting combines skills
of horsemanship and target shooting with the added adrenaline rush of
racing the clock. Shooting balloons mounted on poles, the rider races
around the course of 10 balloons, trying to beat everyone else's time.
But wait, there's more! One pistol only has five shots. The rider then has
to switch to a second pistol to finish out the last of the 10 targets!
Is it safe? Glad you asked! Yes, it's very safe but we always observe the
typical safety rules where guns are concerned. These are .45 single action
pistols that also shoot black powder blanks. . Watch the
video at the bottom of this page and you'll see the sport in action.
It's safe, and it's about the most fun you'll ever have on horseback.
